Episode 00 --- Demo Scripts
Three throwaway-repo generators supporting muse-episode-00-what-is-muse.md.
Each one is self-contained and safe to re-run; running it deletes and
rebuilds its own output directory only.
make-git-episode00-demo.sh
./make-git-episode00-demo.sh [DEMO_DIR] # default: muse-git-demo
Builds a real Git repo (git init, real commits) plus a real .mid file,
used for the episode's Git-vs-Muse framing --- shows what a line-based tool
sees (a calculator function, 20 generated call-site files, a binary MIDI
file) as a baseline before Muse's structured view is introduced.
make-muse-content-addressing-episode00-demo.sh
./make-muse-content-addressing-episode00-demo.sh [DEMO_DIR] # default: muse-content-addressing-episode00
Requires muse and python3 on PATH. Builds a real muse init --domain code repo for the content-addressing walkthrough --- object IDs, snapshots,
the commit DAG.
make-muse-midi-episode00-demo.sh
./make-muse-midi-episode00-demo.sh [DEMO_DIR] # default: muse-midi-episode00
Requires muse, python3, and the mido package importable by that
python3 (run from the Muse dev environment/venv where it's installed --- the
script checks this up front and exits with a clear error if it's missing).
Builds a real MIDI-domain repo for the "Muse understands music, not just
opaque binary" beat.
General notes
- All three scripts accept an optional first argument to override the output directory name; omit it to use the script's default.
- Output directories (
muse-git-demo/,muse-content-addressing-episode00/,muse-midi-episode00/) are disposable --- re-run the script rather than hand-editing them. If a demo needs to change, change the script. - None of these touch anything outside their own output directory.
