VCS Adapter Interface
Canonical copy of docs/OVERSEER-KIT-SPEC.md §4. K2 implements these methods for three backends.

Cross-repo safety
Every Muse invocation uses explicit muse -C <absolute-repo-root> and confirms branch + HEAD before writes.
