# Research Lab template

This template is for **academic and scientific teams** running wet-lab or mixed computational–experimental work. It mirrors how many labs organize literature, protocols, experiment logs, meetings, and formal decisions.

## Target audience

- Principal investigators and lab managers onboarding new members
- Graduate students and postdocs who need a single place for protocols and results
- Collaborators who want shared context without digging through email threads

## Folder layout

| Folder | Purpose |

| `inbox/` | Quick captures and onboarding; promote notes into deeper folders when stable |
| `literature/` | Paper reviews, reading notes, and synthesis tied to citations |
| `protocols/` | Versioned procedures: materials, steps, safety, and revisions |
| `experiments/` | Dated run logs: setup, observations, raw pointers, and follow-ups |
| `meetings/` | Standing syncs, committee notes, and decisions from group discussion |
| `decisions/` | Lightweight ADRs for methodology, tooling, or lab policy |

Copy this folder into a new vault (or symlink it) and adjust `project` in frontmatter to your grant or lab name. Example notes use `2026-04-07` as a fixed sample date for consistency.
